FC Barcelona and Youssoupha Fall have reached an agreement for the Senegalese center to continue with the team for another season. Fall played 63 games in his first season with the team and always put the collective interest above his individual one. He grew up in Senegal as a big fan of FC Barcelona and wears the blue and red jersey with pride. "Culers, I'm very happy to continue with FC Barcelona next season. I'll give my best for you and for the team", Fall said in a message to the fans from Dakar. General manager Juan Carlos Navarro highlights that Fall "has shown since the first day that he wants to be a Barcelona player". "We have always valued his continuity because he is very liked by his teammates and by the Club". And adds: "for us it is fundamental to have players who really want to be here and make an effort to show it". Navarro also explains that Fall's renewal has been conditioned by the process of assembling the team: "The team's design with Jabari Parker and other potential moves conditioned the team's construction and, in particular, the interior game. As the weeks have gone by, we have been able to add Fall. And this satisfies us a lot". The sports director has also highlighted the good fit of the center in the interior rotation because "he gives us presence and physical impact, conditioning the rival teams". "He complements very well with Vesely, who associates more in the creation of the interior game and opens the field. And with Willy, who plays one-on-one situations behind the basket and in the pick&roll continuations". Regarding the global market context, Navarro has wanted to highlight the moment that is lived in European basketball, with a very reduced number of players available. "Most young people have the destination of the American university league, the NBA is many steps above in economic terms, the Euroliga has gone from 18 to 20 teams and has participants with a huge economic power and the Asian and Australian market only grows". These circumstances have a direct effect on the transfer market: "These conditions have made many players who were not supposed to continue in their clubs end up being retained, and have also caused an increase in the valuation of many of them, making it more difficult to sign them", Navarro adds, remembering that "in Spain we are limited by the number of players".
